A Visit To Mayberry (aka Mount Airy)
We grew up with reruns of the Andy Griffith Show on our television. Andy Griffith was raised in the small town of Mount Airy in North Carolina and the town of Mayberry of the show was remarkably like Andy’s hometown.
We took a day trip to this quaint little town and stepped back into 60’s Mayberry. We visited Opie’s Candy Shop, Floyd’s Barber Shop, and the Courthouse, and had so much fun.
We got tickets on the Good Time Trolley Tour. The tour stops at all of the attractions so it was easy on our feet! Snappy Lunch was a delicious stop on our tour where we refreshed ourselves with their famous Pork Chop Sandwich. Yumm!
